A pleasant 10 minute walk down the hill takes you to the attractions of Dartmouth and the Dart Harbour. There you will find fine restaurants, cafés, pubs, shops, opportunities to sail,
fish or row, a museum, an arts centre, public gardens plus ferries to Kingswear, Dittisham or Dartmouth Castle. The energetic will also enjoy the walk back up the hill to the peaceful environment of Melverley House. Alternatively you can take a short inexpensive taxi ride (£3 to £4).
